The BMW X5 xDrive40e, 330e and 740e xDrive iPerformance use BMW eDrive technology. All BMW iPerformance models combine an electric motor with an internal combustion engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission. As part of the company’s commitment to reducing the effects of greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the convenience of longer distance EV travel, BMW has also committed to the development of a robust public EV charging infrastructure in the US.
