The standard Active Driving Assistant includes features such as Frontal Collision Mitigation, Lane Keeping Assistant, Active Blind Spot Detection, and Speed Limit Info. For just $500, customers can specify the optional Driving Assistance Plus Package, which adds Distance Control and Steering Assistant, which applies corrective steering to help the driver stay centered in the lane at highway speeds.
For even greater comfort on long journeys or in dense traffic, the optional Driving Assistance Professional Package further adds Side Collision Protection, front and rear Cross Traffic Warning, Lane Change Assistant, and Traffic Jam Assistant, which allows attentive hands-free driving on select highways up to 40 mph.
Parking Assistant as standard, Parking Assistant Plus optional.
The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes as standard with Parking Assistant, including Active Park Distance Control with Side Protection, Rear View Camera with rear Panorama View, and Back-Up Assistant. The optional Parking Assistant Plus, part of the Technology Package, also includes the Drive Recorder and Parking View. Drivers can also use Remote 3D View to have a live three-dimensional image of the vehicle and its surroundings transmitted to their smartphone.
Intuitive operation and innovative digital services with BMW Operating System 9 and BMW Digital Premium.
The standard BMW Curved Display in the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe also ensures a modern cockpit design with clear driver orientation. Comprising a 10.25-inch Information Display and a Control Display with a screen diagonal of 10.7 inches, it serves as a platform for the latest version of BMW iDrive with QuickSelect.
Based on BMW Operating System 9, the display and operating system provide optimized options for intuitive and convenient control of various functions and digital services. In addition to the touch function on the Control Display and voice control with BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, it includes multifunction buttons on the steering wheel and, optionally, the BMW Head-Up Display, which together with Augmented View forms part of BMW Live Cockpit Professional.
The navigation map is always shown on the start screen on the Control Display. On the same level, vertically arranged widgets are shown on the driver's side of the display which can be changed by means of swiping. QuickSelect enables the desired function to be accessed directly without having to access a submenu. Additional information and settings are available by swiping horizontally on the respective widget.
BMW ConnectedDrive Upgrades and BMW Digital Premium.
BMW Operating System 9 provides the foundation for a selection of digital services with a wide range of customization options. Remote software upgrades can be used to integrate quality enhancements and additional functions "over the air". And there are many functions customers can try out free of charge, subscribe to short or long term, or purchase outright in the BMW Connected Drive Store via the My BMW App.
An additional highlight is BMW Digital Premium: this includes data usage for all digital services and the apps available from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store. This enables customers to subscribe to entertainment services in the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, including music and video streaming, news, and gaming. Along with music apps such as Spotify and Amazon Music, the entertainment program includes a video app (powered by Xperi TiVo) with both live channels and on-demand media libraries such as the newly integrated Paramount+.
In the area of in-car gaming, the AirConsole platform also offers a constantly growing selection of casual games such as "Uno® Car Party''. "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” and "Starlit Kart" - an ideal pastime for drivers and passengers in the stationary vehicle, whether on their own or in multiplayer mode: all you need is your smartphone, which acts as a controller, and the BMW Curved Display.
BMW Digital Premium also enables customers to add a more extensive range of functions in BMW Maps such as Satellite View and 3D building display, additional My Modes, and new variants for the Welcome and Goodbye Animation of the exterior and interior lighting.
Personalized user experience with BMW ID and My BMW App.
Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available as standard in the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe. In order to personalize the user experience via the BMW ID and the My BMW app, one need only to log in to the vehicle for the first time via smartphone and QR code scan. The personal profile is then added, and all settings are loaded that are capable of synchronization. In addition, the vehicle is automatically added to the My BMW app.
