Adam McNeill

Vice President of Engineering, BMW of North America, LLC

Adam McNeill is Vice President of Engineering for BMW of North America, LLC. In this role, McNeill is responsible for the certification of emission and safety, testing and verification, requirement management, competitor analysis, connected drive, electric mobility and power charging, accident research and product analysis.

McNeill began his career with BMW in 1999. Early in his career, Adam was responsible for vehicle safety of the ‘New Mini’ and held several different management positions within the vehicle safety area, before moving to the US in 2008 to take over the department Product Requirements and Development.

In 2011, Adam returned to Munich and led the Passive Safety Development department and was responsible for meeting all of the worldwide legal standards and consumer tests. His last focus was defining the updated vehicle safety virtualization strategy, developing new restraint system concepts for automated vehicles and ensuring the safe integration of high voltage battery packs into existing vehicle architectures.

During the 2019 ESV conference, Adam received a special award of appreciation in recognition and appreciation for vast developments in vehicle safety from NHTSA.

Adam studied at East Birmingham Technical College and Warwick University.
