"Premium in a New Age" Jim O'Donnell Speaks to the Automotive Press Association

Jim O'Donnell, President of BMW of North America, LLC spoke at an Automotive Press Association (APA) luncheon on September 1, 2009 at the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC).

His speech was entitled, "Premium in a New Age" and presented the following theme.

The global and U.S. car markets will rebound. But what will be the role of the premium automakers in this new and reconstituted world? Whether customers return to previous buying habits or adopt a shift toward a more value-conscious mindset, premium automakers, and the BMW Group as a leading player in this environment, will continue help shape the future of individual mobility because of three areas that premium automakers - and BMW in particular - do better than the mass manufacturers: (1) the development of a profitable dealer network; (2) the contribution to the industry and U.S. economy; and (3) the contribution of technical innovations as they migrate into mainstream market.
