BMW Championship – Enhancing the Tournament Experience 

Carmel, IN – August 31, 2012… The 2012 BMW Championship debuts in Indianapolis with a range of unique and engaging attractions and events designed to enhance the tournament experience for patrons and players, including:

Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am & Pairings Party
As golf is the only sport where amateur golfers can play in an event alongside a professional athlete, the BMW Championship offers that chance at Crooked Stick. Groups of three amateurs will be paired with one of the top 70 PGA TOUR professionals from around the world. From the highly-anticipated Tuesday evening pairings party on September 4 to the round of golf itself and evening awards reception on Wednesday, the Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am will truly create memories that will last a lifetime.

BMW Hole-In-One Scholarship
In continuing what has become a tradition at the BMW Championship, BMW will provide a full four-year Evans Scholarship in the name of the first player to sink a hole-in-one on any hole during the tournament.

BMW Hole-In-One Vehicles
For the first time, BMW will feature two Hole-in-One cars at this year’s tournament. The first player who achieves a hole-in-one on the 13th Hole will receive a new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe and the first to do the same on the 17th hole will receive a new BMW M5.

The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is a new 4-door addition to the 6 Series line that successfully combines the stunning proportions, design and driving dynamics of the 6 Series Coupe with interior room and amenities for up to five passengers.

The fifth generation BMW M5 is an exceptionally dynamic high-performance sports car, featuring a high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo that is roughly 30 percent more fuel efficient than its predecessor and zooms from 0-60 mph in less than 4.4 seconds.

BMW Experience
Put your putting skills to the test while exploring the newest additions to the BMW family. Located inside the 10,000 square foot BMW Experience, the BMW-themed golf holes are as challenging as they are fun. Each hole explores a different BMW attribute such as performance, efficiency and precision. The BMW Experience also offers fans a unique opportunity to interact with a variety of BMW models, including the 100% Electric BMW ActiveE, the only electric vehicle with the high-performance thrills and unrivaled efficiency you’ve come to expect from BMW. Prizes are awarded daily to the top performers and participants will also have the chance to beat the scores of the PGA TOUR professionals. From September 6 to September 9 there will also be special giveaways for patrons who use foursquare to check-in to the BMW Experience.

BMW Owner Benefits
Patrons’ BMW keys unlock the best that the BMW Championship has to offer. For starters, Additionally, BMW drivers have exclusive access to a private Owners-Only parking area at Cox Hall Gardens. By showing a BMW key, BMW owners are also welcome to enter the private BMW Owners’ Pavilion, located on the 16th Green and relax in an air-conditioned environment while enjoying premium concessions. The BMW Owners’ Pavilion also offers luxury grandstand seating and a rooftop deck with spectacular views of the course to watch the top players in the world compete in the BMW Championship. No matter who claims the BMW Championship trophy this year, BMW owners are the real winner.

BMW Biergarten
Celebrate BMW’s Bavarian roots in the Biergarten located by the Crooked Stick Clubhouse. With a video board showing live tournament coverage and manual scoreboard displaying who’s at the top of the leaderboard; the BMW Biergarten is a great place to relax without missing any of the action. Located next to player parking, patrons also get a great view of the players arriving and departing the course in their Ultimate Driving Machine®.
Location: Across from the Crooked Stick Clubhouse.

In addition to these onsite attractions and activities, BMW hosted two pre-tournament contests and promotions designed to get owners closer to the excitement:
  • Best Seats in the House Promotion
    With BMW’s Best Seats in the House Promotion, Carmel, Indiana’s own Ryan Gallmeyer and a guest will receive the ultimate experience to walk inside the ropes during the final round of the BMW Championship and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk with the final playing group on Sunday. Then on Monday they will play in the BMW Championship Am-Am event on the tournament course.
  • Ultimate Foursome Promotion
    For Charles Fish of Dallas, Texas the excitement of the 2012 BMW Championship started before the tournament itself, earning himself the ultimate golfing experience to live one day like a PGA TOUR professional. The Ultimate Foursome Promotion prize package includes roundtrip airfare for two, deluxe hotel accommodations and is highlighted by the opportunity to play the tournament course with one of the top 70 players in the world in the BMW Championship Pro-Am and attend a private Awards Ceremony that follows.
